Things Kids Say

G: Daddy, what are you eating?
C: Stir fry
G: Oh I don't like stir fry
C: Why not? It's good.
G: It makes me grumpy.

Showing Gage an art print we got for Addie's room that says, "When I grow up I want to be a Jedi", he says,  "Well when I grow up I want to be a bad guy!"

Addie, showing me a bag of stuff: "Mom! Look at all our spy gear! Well, and a few toys...you know...for breaks."

Gage, standing up to pee: "Haha! Look at my penis! It's like a fire hose!"

While putting a bandaid on Addie's foot! Gage says, "Give me an owie too!"

A: Mom. We seriously have a black hole in this house. Your smartcover is missing, the green eyeball toy, the dice!
Me: Oh no! What if it sucks us in?
A: Then I guess we will find all the stuff! Wait. You're kidding, right?

Gage hits Addie with a toy car to which I respond, "NO thank you! What do you tell your sister?" G: "You're welcome!"

Gage trying to feed baby brother in my belly a raisin... Me: Do you remember how the baby gets his food in there?" G: "Yes, like this, chomp chomp chomp!"

Christmas-y Days

We have been getting ready for Christmas around here! Lots of fun decorating, cookie baking, and activities. Here are some fun pics we wanted to share.

Lighting the 1st Advent candle
Avey is back! Drinking out of the syrup...silly elf.
Snuggling on the Polar Express. This was a great year on the train for Gage. He LOVES trains and especially the Polar Express. He watches the movie nearly everyday while also acting it out with his toy trains. Love him.
There was fresh snow the day we went on the Polar Express so the kids got to have their first "real" play-in-the-snow. They had a blast even though they only had about 25 minutes. Daddy pulled them a little bit too fast in the sled and it tipped, dumping Gage face first in the snow. Poor kid was screaming with a snow covered face. Admittedly, we all had a good laugh about it.
We participated in the Jingle Bell Run at Addie's school. Who knew she was such a runner?
Making cookies!
Our little frosting worker bee. She sat so quietly and just decorated cookies all day while we baked. You wouldn't have even know she was there except for her tray of beautiful cookies. A little artist in the making. :)

6 weeks in the making...

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle
Tonight...

She has been babying that tooth along since it first came loose 6 weeks ago. She would try and let me pull it out and then raise her hand in the air (our "secret" signal) for when it hurt and she wanted me to stop. Tonight, it was wiggling by a thread so I talked her into letting me try before bed. Right as her hand popped up, I said, "I got it!" And much bouncing off the walls, happy giggling, and general euphoria ensued...

Happy milestone, Boog. We love you.

Yep, we're that cool now...

So yesterday this happened:

Yeah, yeah. Now I am officially a minivan-driving, kid-chauffeuring, soccer-mom. In all seriousness, I am pretty stoked about all the space and storage. The kids can't touch each other while we're driving. Blissful.

Plus, we need room for our next little package who has yet to be formally introduced on the blog! Meet #3! Due to arrive in 12 weeks (yikes!) on or around 2-24-14. I love that little face so much already.

And in case you were wondering...it's going to be a...

28 weeks!
This pregnancy is going pretty smoothly. I was definitely sick in the beginning (and I hardly ever felt that way with the other 2) and I'm tired a lot, but what parent with kids isn't? This little man's arrival is sneaking up on us, but we couldn't be more happy. We are very blessed. God is good.

Gage is 3!

Let me start by saying that I have A LOT of back blogging to do... gotta start somewhere. So how about with this cute little man who turned 3 on October 21st?

We went to the train park in Scottsdale; it's one of our favorite parks! We had some pizza, and cake, and presents of course. It was a fun, kick-back day.

It was so fun watching him open presents this year! He was excited about every single one and had something to say about all of them. He even pulled some pajamas out of a gift bag and excitedly exclaimed, "HANGERS!" Another favorite was when he opened a little CD player for his new "big boy room" and we told him it was a little boombox to which he responded, "No, it's a room-box for my new room!"

Riding the train!

What Gage is up to at this ripe old age of 3:
-Mostly potty trained, slow and steady...
-He never stops moving, he is a total wild man!
   -He loves to snuggle.
-He never really had terrible twos, but we are definitely having terrible threes...
-He has this adorable twangy accent. "Girl" sounds like gweal and "bell" sounds like bale. Wish I could think of more so I won't forget them when he grows out of it
-He thinks if something is done "real quick" it's not really breaking a rule. As in, "Can I pleeease have something from the dessert bowl? Just reeeeal quick?" Also, side note, he is really good at begging and he is so cute I have a hard time saying no to his little face. But I'm working on it. :)
-He can really ramble on when he gets going which is so fun to listen to the way a 3 year old mind works. It's probably the way most of our minds work, we just don't say everything out loud.
-He adores his big sister and wants to do everything she is doing. This is starting to get on her 6 year old nerves...
-He loves trucks, cars, planes, trains, or basically anything that goes. Running to the front door to watch a school bus or the garbage truck is a must.
-His favorite shows/movies are: PAW Patrol, Fireman Sam, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Cars
-He is a huge flirt and literally "makes eyes" at anyone he is trying to charm. He flutters his eyelashes and tilts his head from side to side with a big grin. We are in trouble...
-I can usually get him to do what I want if I make it a race. (And let him win.)
-He likes to fall asleep with one of us around. "Can you just stay in here for a little bit?"
-He weighs 31 lbs. and is 37 inches tall and falls in the 25th percentile.

Happy Birthday, buddy. We love you. :)

First Grader!

First day of 1st grade! Excuse the weird brightness in the tops of the pics, it was cloudy out...
We only had a few jitters in the morning, but once we got to school it was smooth-sailing. I prayed she wouldn't cry because I just didn't think I could handle it two years in a row! She had a great night's sleep (thanks to her awesome teacher handing out "magic" confetti on Meet the Teacher night for the kids to put under their pillows so they would sleep all night before school!) and a yummy egg sandwich breakfast. She stays all day this year, well, until 2:40, and eats lunch at school now. So I am a little nervous about the changes but I know she will do just fine. :)

Anytime we talk about Addie going to school, Gage pipes up and says, "And me too! I go to school too!" Nope. Sorry, kid. I'm keeping you awhile longer!

Getting ready to head inside! Got her first school lunch all packed and ready to go!
